The Home Depot

May 2025 - July 2025
During this internship, I worked on the Data Protection team. I helped build the foundation for a DLP pipeline that ensured security even in other languages like French and Spanish. This initiative supported the company's strategic expansion into Mexico and French-speaking parts of Canada.
New York University Bobst Library

September 2024 - Present
I help people solve computer problems at Bobst Library, by working at the help desk. I work at print support and help resolve file and sending/recieving issues. When I am not doing that I help at the Bobst Library Computer Center, where I help loan out computers, chargers headphones and different tech.
Irondeqouit Public Library

March 2021 - November 2022
I was a page at my local library, I helped people find books using the library's catalog. I assisted with shelving and organizing books using the Dewey Decimal System.

AI Agent powered real-time fact-checking desktop app built to verify claims. I built this with a group of friends at Columbia's Hackathon (DivHacks 2025). I worked on building the agentic pipeline and integrating the system with an MCP that did research and cross-checked sources. I primarily used LangGraph for building the workflow. The project ended up winning $5,000 for its use of Opik, an AI evluation platform.

Web app that helps introduce people to basic algorithmic trading with cryptocurrencies. I made informational pages on the web app. I also developed a secure and encrypted authentication system. The web app included a preset formula that would allow the user to pick how and when certain trades were executed. The bot could even be connected to the Coinbase API. It also included AI-driven insights, crypto news would be scraped from online, and an AI would tell how it could affect markets.

A mobile app designed to help blind and visually impaired individuals navigate indoor spaces more effectively. The app uses depth sensors to detect obstacles and provide audio feedback. I worked on implementing the depth sensing algorithms and user interface design.

Created a fun program during NYU's 24-hour MLH hackathon with 3 friends. This program creates a bridge between Spotify's API and OpenAI's API. It uses the listener's most recent songs to distinguish how the user might be feeling and if they are showing any signs of sadness based on their recent music taste. I helped the team with the backend and the Python/Flask script that connected both APIs.

Built this web app with 3 friends; this took place during a 24-hour NYU Buildathon. The web app served as an MVP of an anonymous proximity social media app; users could text each other based on how close they are; they could even set the distance they'd like. This web app was meant to be used in any public area so people could voice any concerns or questions or have a casual discussion. I worked with React and focused on implementing the proximity function.

Developed a vibrating metronome for a freshman-year design project. This metronome was created with the intent of helping people who are hard of hearing "feel the music." The metronome would be connected to an application that would send the song BPM and vibrate accordingly. I helped with various aspects, such as planning, documenting, designing, and developing the Android app that it connected to.

I was born in Port Sudan, Sudan, and grew up in Rochester, New York. That's where I found my passion for computers, technology, and engineering. Currently, I'm majoring in computer science and economics at New York University. I'm skilled in bringing ideas to life and developing unique projects that solve real-world problems. I'm always keen to turn ideas into code; from developing AI-driven tools to crafting user-friendly web interfaces and fun features, I am always ready to be involved. If you have a great project idea, let me know; I'd love to be involved!
